2020 Alexandrine

The 2020 Alexandrine is a harmonious blend of Glenrose and Dubost Estate fruit. Noticeably different than its predecessor is the inclusion of Roussanne. This is the beauty of a blend, which allows the winemaker to adjust varietal percentages in conjunction with what the season produced. Roussanne is typically a big white wine even pulling in tannin and structure where Viognier and Grenache Blanc sometimes cannot. With that extra structure in mind the wine was reared for one and a half years in thirty percent new French oak barrels on its lees. This extended aging coupled with a full Malo lactic conversion allowed for bottling unfined and unfiltered. Lots of cream and butter reminiscent of some of the old Dubost chardonnays will please those that are redolent of that style. It is a rock solid white wine.
