2006 Reserve Syrah

The 2006 Syrah Reserve is a wonderful example of the synergy that can be
attained with the co-fermentation of varietals. Syrah and Grenache from Starr
Ranch were harvested on the same day and fermented together with Rhone
isolate yeasts. A combination of aeration pump-overs and punching down by
hand several times daily helped to extract the flavors and tannins completely.
Aged for three years in new American and neutral French oak these grapes
are perfect teammates; each other’s complement, and only together do they
achieve harmony and balance. 100 cases produced.
