Enticing aromas of black plum, blackberry, chocolate, red licorice and root
beer introduce the 2006 Carmenere from Colbert Vineyard—followed by
bright flavors of red fruits, plum and an enticing dusting of dark chocolate.
Gentle acidity and firm yet silky tannins in this rare Bordeaux variety promise
longevity in the cellar, and its subtle tannins make this a versatile special
occasion wine, equally excellent with chocolate desserts or cheese plates.
Fermented in small open-tops with 50% whole cluster - 50% destemmed
fruit. Aged in 60% New French and Hungarian oak barrels for 32 months
prior to bottling.
